Cultivating Future Leaders of Organizations with the Spirit of Jitsugaku

The Faculty of Business and Commerce at Keio University, Japan’s oldest modern university, grew out of the achievements of Yukichi Fukuzawa. Beginning as the Department of Political Economy, it developed into a distinct faculty as the field of business and commerce matured.

The faculty encompasses four major fields: Management and Organization, Marketing Science, Accounting, and Economy and Industry. Through a scientific perspective on modern industrial society as a whole and a curriculum that evolves with the times, we develop the “human resources” who will navigate our ever-changing world and lead its future.

In order to solve the increasingly complex problems of modern industrial society, the Faculty of Business and Commerce develops highly specialized researchers and professionals who connect theory and practice to conduct in-depth exploration of business and the economy.

Society for Commerce

The Society of Business and Commerce, which brings together the research of the Faculty of Business and Commerce, presents and publishes a variety of research with the aim of understanding contemporary global industrial society through theory and evidence, and gaining insight into methods of progress and change.

Accounting Research and Education Center

The society plans and organizes a variety of educational events, such as lectures and tours of auditing firms, for all members, including undergraduate and graduate students from every faculty or year of study.
