The Office for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, in collaboration with the Keio University Student Conference, has been promoting various initiatives for the SDGs. In fiscal years 2023 and 2024, as the first phase, we promoted initiatives to encourage the use of water servers by installing them on all campuses and holding a stamp rally under the theme "Beginning 'Kyosei' with the Global Environment with 'My Bottle'!"

Now, as the second phase, we have launched an initiative to continuously offer "Sustainable Seafood" at the "Green's Marche" cafeteria on the Hiyoshi Campus. This also originated from an initiative by the Keio University Student Conference, which offered menus using "Sustainable Seafood" on multiple occasions last fiscal year, and they were well-received. And from fiscal year 2025, we will be regularly offering menus using "Sustainable Seafood" at "Green's Marche." Additionally, to make it clear that the menu is part of this initiative, we have decided to add a "flag toothpick" to the dishes. The "flag toothpick" was designed by students from the Keio University Student Conference. We are providing this information through this site in the hope that as many people as possible will learn about "Sustainable Seafood."

◆ What is "Sustainable Seafood"?

"Sustainable" means that something will continue long into the future. The MSC "blue fish label" is proof of wild-caught seafood from fisheries that are considerate of marine resources and the environment, while the ASC label is proof of farmed seafood raised with minimal impact on the environment and society. To ensure we can continue to eat fish long into the future, one thing we can do is choose sustainable seafood with the MSC "blue fish label" or the ASC label. Actively choosing products with these labels helps protect vital marine resources.
