This course is for students interested in cutting-edge AI (Deep Learning). We welcome anyone who wants to learn the basics of AI, regardless of their prior experience.

Throughout the four-week course, participants will learn everything from setting up an AI development environment to the mathematical foundations, theory, and implementation of AI through hands-on practice.

Scheduled Content:

Week 1: Environment setup, Introduction to Python

Week 2: History of machine learning, Review of mathematical concepts, Simple AI implementation experience

Week 3: Theory of machine learning, Creating an image classification AI

Week 4: Techniques for building higher-performance AI, Creating a sentiment analysis AI

*This course is operated with funding for the enhancement of education at the Faculty of Science and Technology, courtesy of the Mentor Mita-kai.

A similar course (Part 3) is scheduled for December. Registration for Part 3 and subsequent courses will be announced after registration for Part 2 has closed.

Dates: November 7, 14, 21, 28, 2018 (Wednesdays of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th weeks)

Time: 13:00–16:15 (3rd and 4th periods)

Eligibility: Keio University students who want to learn AI from the basics.

Capacity: Approx. 20 people *If there are too many applicants, participants will be selected by lottery.
