Lecturer: Toshio Miyata
He joined the First Department of Surgery at Osaka University in 2003 and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in 2009. Currently, he is a professor at Waseda University, an invited professor at Osaka University School of Medicine, an advisor to Kanagawa Prefecture, director of the Office of Health Policy and Technology Assessment at the National Cancer Center, an executive committee member of the Japan Health Council, and an expert committee member of the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA), among other positions.
He is also the president of the medical corporation DEN Mii Clinic. At Mii Clinic, which he founded, he promotes the development of a community-based integrated care system and home healthcare utilizing ICT.
He also founded Medical Compass, where he developed and released the self-care app "Kencompass." His publications include "Pharmaceutical Company Crisis: Growth Strategies for Survival" (Elsevier Japan).
Description
Building a one-stop healthcare service that uses data to cover everything from disease prevention to treatment and prognosis is expected to be a solution for extending healthy life expectancy in a super-aging society.
What kind of system design and ethical issues are there in achieving a comprehensive healthcare cycle?
In this lecture, we will welcome Professor Toshio Miyata, who has considered data-driven healthcare from various positions and perspectives, to the Keio University Global Research Institute (KGRI) to discuss the current state and future prospects of a comprehensive healthcare system.
