Overview:
In recent years, there has been growing interest in businesses utilizing "NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens)" and the "metaverse." For this session, we will welcome three distinguished guests who are active on the front lines of this high-profile industry: Mr. Gen Kanai (Director of Strategic Partnerships, Animoca Brands), Ms. Yukiko Endo (Japan Country Manager, The Sandbox), and Mr. Kensuke Amou (Managing Executive Officer, Coincheck). They will deliver a lecture in a panel discussion format.
This session will also begin with a basic explanation of what "NFTs" and the "metaverse" are. Furthermore, by having the three speakers discuss use cases at their respective companies, we aim to make these technologies and businesses feel more familiar.
Additionally, they will discuss the future outlook and potential of this industry. Finally, to deepen awareness of the issues in these fields, they will offer advice to students on what perspectives are beneficial for succeeding in industries like "NFTs" and the "metaverse."

■ Mr. Gen Kanai
Director of Strategic Partnerships at Animoca Brands. He is responsible for partnerships, M&A, and investments for blockchain game companies. He has extensive experience in marketing, product management, business development, evangelism, and community development in Asia. Before joining Animoca Brands, he held management positions in various industries at companies such as Mozilla, Sony, and Toyota. He also has a wealth of experience in the Japanese market.
■ Ms. Yukiko Endo
After graduating from New York University, she joined NTT DOCOMO. After working on i-mode and alliance businesses at the company, she worked for a foreign software vendor, a foreign ad network, and an advertising agency before joining The Sandbox in 2020. Since 2022, as Japan Country Manager, she has been leading the development of the Web3 metaverse business in Japan.
■ Mr. Kensuke Amou
After graduating from university and working at a trading company, he joined Recruit Co., Ltd. in 2007. After gaining experience in developing multiple new businesses, he joined Coincheck, Inc. in 2018. He oversees the division responsible for new business development, listing new crypto assets, and external affairs with industry organizations. Since 2020, as an Executive Officer, he has created new businesses such as Japan's first NFT marketplace by a crypto asset exchange and Japan's first IEO. He is in charge of new Web3-related businesses, including the metaverse. In June 2022, he was appointed Managing Executive Officer of the company. In 2021, he became the Representative Director of Coincheck Technologies, Inc., which operates "miime," one of Japan's largest NFT marketplaces. He is the Chairman of the NFT subcommittee of the Japan Cryptoasset Business Association (JCBA). He is the author of "The NFT Textbook" (Asahi Shimbun Publications).
