KGRI offers the KGRI Challenge Grant, an internal research grant program, to support the research activities of young researchers who aim to secure larger public and private funding in addition to their current research funds, and to promote the advancement of research activities.

The second round of screening (an oral hearing in English) for applicants who passed the first round for FY2024 will be held as follows. To promote internal research collaboration and exchange, university members other than the review committee are welcome to observe the hearing.

The event will be held as detailed below. Those who wish to participate (in-person attendance only) should register using the link below. Please note that participants will be required to agree to a confidentiality obligation upon registration.

[About the KGRI Challenge Grant]

This is a new research grant program starting in FY2024 for research projects in one or more of the following fields: "exploratory," "interdisciplinary," "international," "cross-disciplinary," or "integration of humanities and sciences."

Grant Amount: Up to 3 million JPY per project for one year, with a maximum total of 5 million JPY over two years in principle.

Eligible Research Categories:

・OIST-Keio Exploratory Research

・Integration of humanities and sciences / Interdisciplinary / Cross-disciplinary *Must fall into at least one of these categories

・New fields / Development of international collaboration *Must fall into at least one of these categories

Research Period: Mid-May 2024 to March 31, 2026 (maximum)

Eligibility (Principal Investigator): Full-time faculty members directly employed by Keio University.
